Dear GISMO Member,
I am pleased to announce the results of GISMO’s bi-annual nominations and elections process that has just concluded. All eight Board of Directors seats and the GISMO Presidency were up for grabs. However, in the end, the number of candidates equaled the number of open positions. Consequently, we will dispense with sending out ballots and declare all nominees elected. Each will serve a two year term as provided by GISMO’s bylaws. Short bios will soon be posted to the GISMO website. New terms for the Board and the President commence on December 15, 2023.
The new GISMO Board of Directors includes returning members Amy Jeu, Alan Leidner, Dara Mendeloff, Elia Machado, Noreen Whysel, Wendy Dorf, and Doug Williamson. I will serve another term as GISMO President. Thank you for your past and future service. Joining the board as a new Board member is Danielle Hartman. Danielle is an Associate at Arup and the Geospatial Lead for the Eastern-US region, where she provides strategic planning and project management in the use of geospatial data and GIS, manages an integrated data platform for a large infrastructure project, and guides the development of site selection and risk assessment workflows.
I’d like to thank Camille Stewart who moved on from her Board and Treasurer positions, and Raychell Velez who moved on from the Recording Secretary position.
Sincerely, Jiin
Jiin Wen,
GISMO President
